How can Sick Sick and participate in our activities from his bed?

answer this question by telling us what the Servant of God John Paul II the Great, Pope of the Youth and Families, through his Apostolic Letter Salvifici Doloris " on the Christian Meaning of Human Suffering (23, 26-27):

"Suffering is also a call to manifest the moral greatness of man, his spiritual maturity.

" (...) Suffering, in fact, is always a test -sometimes a very hard-to which humanity is subjected. (...) Suffer means to become particularly susceptible, particularly open to the action of the salvific powers of God offered humanity in Christ. In him God has confirmed desire to act especially through suffering, which is the weakness and emptying of man, and just want to show their strength in this weakness and this spoliation.

" (...) In Suffering as it contains a special call to goodness, that man must exercise on his part. This is the virtue of perseverance in bearing whatever disturbs and causes harm. Doing so, the man brings out the hope that he remains convinced that the suffering does not prevail over him, not deprive him of his dignity together with awareness of the meaning of life. And so This effect is manifested along with the action of God's love, which is the supreme gift of the Holy Spirit. As part of this love, the man is all the way in suffering: he rediscovers the "soul", which appeared to have "lost" because of suffering

" (...) Through the centuries and generations have found that in suffering there is concealed a particular power that draws a person interiorly close to Christ, a special grace ": conversion. man "discovers a new dimension of his life and his vocation. This discovery is a direct confirmation of the spiritual greatness in man surpasses the body so a little incomprehensible. When this body is gravely ill, totally incapacitated and man is almost incapable of living and acting, the more they bring out the interior maturity and spiritual greatness, constituting a touching lesson to those who are healthy and normal.

This interior maturity and spiritual greatness in suffering are certainly the result of a particular conversion and cooperation with the grace of the crucified Redeemer. He himself is acting in the midst of human suffering through his Spirit of Truth through the Holy Comforter. It is he who transforms, in a sense, the essence of spiritual life, telling the man who suffers a place close to himself. He is, as Interior Master and Guide, who teaches the brother and sister who have this wonderful exchange, placed deep in the mystery of redemption. Suffering is, in itself, prove wrong. But Christ has made suffering the firmest basis of the definitive good, namely the good of eternal salvation. Christ in his suffering on the cross has reached the very roots of evil, of sin and death.

" (...) The Faith in sharing in the sufferings of Christ brings with it the interior certainty that the man who suffers" complete what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ " that dimension spiritual work of Redemption he is serving, like Christ, for salvation of their brothers and sisters. Therefore, not only useful to others, but makes even an irreplaceable service.

( ...) Therefore, the Church sees in all the brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering as a multiple subject of his supernatural power. How often pastors precisely the Church resort to them, and specifically that they seek help and support! The Gospel of suffering is being written unceasingly, and it speaks unceasingly with the words of this strange paradox. The divine force springs gush forth precisely in the midst of human weakness. Those who participate in the sufferings of Christ preserve in their own sufferings a very special particle of the infinite treasure of the world's redemption, and can share this treasure with others. The man, the more they feel threatened by sin, the heavier the structures of sin which carries with it the world today, the greater is the eloquence which has itself human suffering. And the more the Church feels the need to use the value of human sufferings for the salvation of the world. "

♥ The Social Doctrine of the Church and the Integral Human Development Chair Alberto Hurtado

Thursday, July 23, 2009 The international financial crisis, the phenomenon of globalization, social inequality and exclusion, among others, issues are addressed by Pope Benedict XVI from the perspective of love in the encyclical called charity and truth. "Love - caritas - is an extraordinary force that drives people to commit themselves with courage and generosity in the field of justice and peace," said the Holy Father in the early part of this document Vatican's deep theological character, however, can lead to reflections and concrete actions that illuminate the actions of the society for humanity itself. On Wednesday 22 July, more than 350 people heard presentations from different angles that provided academic doctors Felipe Zegarra (theologian), Ismael Muñoz (economist), Charles White (lawyer), Catalina Romero (sociologist) Luis Bacigalupo (philosopher) and José Luis Pérez Guadalupe (theologian and sociologist). The session was led by Efrain Gonzales de Olarte, academic vice chancellor.
Bishop Dr. Marcial Rubio and Miguel Cabrejos.

University authorities, teachers, students, staff and a large number of external groups were part of the interdisciplinary dialogue that explored each chapter of the encyclical. The common denominator of this meeting was that the Holy Father and the universal Church are very concerned to rescue the ethical dimension of social life, based on the real truth in Christ and human values. "Openness to God makes us open for the brothers and an understanding of life as a caring and joyful task. In contrast, the ideological rejection of God and atheism of indifference, oblivious to the Creator and is in danger of forgetting human values, appear today as one of the biggest obstacles to development, "the Holy Father mentioned in the conclusion of this, his third encyclical that offers the Catholic world.
